SKNLP’s A-TEAM ROLLS INTO FIG TREE

The ST KITTS NEVIS LABOUR PARTY (SKNLP), made a powerful statement when they turned up in FIG TREE on July 21 for another Election Campaign Rally. Thousands came from near and far to support H.E. Kenneth 'Kenny' Douglas in his quest to provide proper representation for the people of Sandy Point, Fig Tree, and La Vallee. The constant theme of RED AND READY was evident in the speeches and the large crowd of citizens that packed Fig Tree.

Candidates made use of the occasion to salute the introduction of A NEW DAY AND A BETTER WAY. In addition to endorsing Kenny’s candidacy, the discourse focussed on making life better for Nationals and Residents of the Federation. Samal Duggins zeroed in on the unkept promises of the previous Team Unity Government. He invoked thoughtfulness with the statement, “I wouldn’t be surprised if they tell you they have free helicopter rides to Heaven come September”. This is in reference to the varied promises - to be delivered in the magic month of September - made by Dr Timothy Harris, outgoing Prime Minister, and his PLP candidates.

The man of the hour, Kenny Douglas, was ushered on stage by the dynamic SP entertainer Colin Wyatt who called up C2 contender Marsha Henderson to blaze out his popular song “MOST HIGH FOREVER”. Kenny was then introduced on stage by his nephew, Ashan Browne, and local businesswoman, Chev Rich.

Kenny stepped up to the microphone with a rousing roar from the large and enthusiastic crowd and those online as well. He spoke of the successes of the prior SKNLP Government compared to the failure of the outgoing Team Unity Administration. This point was demonstrated with an audio recording of former Deputy Prime Minister and current C5 rep, Shawn Richards, saying as much.

Candidate Douglas stated “It is my mission to transform our Constituency into a flourishing and productive town that it is meant to be”. He continued, “I told you about the Pier...I will bring it back, I told you about the Fisheries...I will bring it back, I told you about the Town Center...I will bring it back”. Kenny made way for the other A-TEAM candidates, but not before respectfully detailing his other two competitors' past failures
