Nomination day in St Kitts Nevis is over. We can now confirm all the candidates who will vie for seats in the General Election to be held on Friday August 5, 2022. Evidence clearly shows that the St Kitts Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) has extraordinary MOMENTUM as the Election date draws near.
Regardless of the type of campaign function, the SKNLP has demonstrated that they are the leading team in this race. July 26, 2022....Nomination Day....was no exception. The day started with Konris Maynard who was scheduled for 10am at the St Johnson Community Center. As usual, the failed Minister of Health, Akilah Byron-Nisbett, accompanied by her failed leader, Timothy Harris, tried to cause trouble by not sticking to the accustomed route. Instead, they bullied the police to jump ahead even though Konris and his entourage were already on their way. The RED AND READY crowd did not back down as they demanded fair and equal treatment.
Five other SKNLP candidates were nominated in their various constituencies. Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley (C1), H.E. Kenneth Douglas (C5), Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas (C6), Leon Natta-Nelson (C7), and party Leader Dr. Terrance Drew (C8) made their candidacy official between 10 and 11am. New candidates Marsha Henderson and Samal Duggins completed the A-TEAM's slate on Nomination Day at 11.15am.
The large crowd that accompanied each candidate formed a convoy and headed to the Green Tree Lawn in Old Road in a monumental power move that stunned and impressed the well-wishers along the roadway. After the brief pitstop, a cavalcade of enthusiastic supporters took the momentum through the rest of the island main road and ended up in C8, home of the next Prime Minister of the Federation, Dr Terrance Drew.
Regional pollsters and paid propagandists for the other parties have all concluded that the MOMENTUM is with the St Kitts Nevis Labour Party for the pending elections. However, the work is not done. In the words of a returning Labour supporter, "We need to knock on every door, and talk to everyone in order to turn MOMENTUM into votes on August 5 for the real Labour party
